When do you have open play today?
All day!  We believe play is the center of childhood and so it is the heart of the playspace.  During our business hours you are always invited to come in and play.  M-F (10- 5) Sat (10-4)

Do you need a membership to play?
Nope.  You can pop in without reservation or membership to play anytime during business hours.

What is the recommended age for the playspace?
Our playspace is appropriate for children 5 years and younger. Children 6 and older may accompany their younger siblings, but regrettably will be asked to leave the playspace if they are not playing in a manner that’s appropriate for our toddler-based facility.

What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept credit cards and cash.

Does everyone have to take off their shoes?
Yes, please. To keep our playspace as clean as possible for our little ones, children and adults are required to wear socks in our play area. No shoes are permitted beyond the reception area.

How long can we stay & play?
There is no time limit. If you find your child is ready to leave, you may also leave and re-enter on the same day.

Is food allowed in the playspace?
Outside food and drinks are permitted, but we ask that they be consumed ONLY while seated at one of our cafe tables. We kindly request, for the safety of children with various food allergies, that you thoroughly clean up once you have finished eating. Wipes are provided to help you.

How often are toys cleaned?
Our toys are cleaned all day long, every day by our staff. There are baby safe wipes placed throughout the facility; If you know your child had a particular item in his/her mouth, please use one of the wipes to clean the item or place it into our wet bin before allowing the item to return to the play floor.

Do you have an area for breastfeeding?
Breastfeeding is absolutely welcome in ANY area of our playspace. Additionally, we offer a private mothers’ only room for added quiet and privacy.

Do you have a changing table?
Yes, we have a dedicated changing and baby care area.

Does the playspace have free WiFi?
Yes.

Where can I park when visiting the playspace?
Our street, Gibson Avenue has street parking along the east side of the street along with parking on adjacent streets.

Can I rent the facility for events other than birthday parties?
Yes! The facility is available for private events such as fundraisers, field trips, baby showers, mother blessings and baptisms.

What is expected from parents and caregivers while in the playspace?
Parents & caregivers are expected to:
– monitor their children to ensure the safety of their child(ren) and other children.
– make certain that their child is playing in an appropriate manner, which includes: not causing harm to him/herself or other children playing and not causing unnecessary harm or damage to the toys, walls, or structures within our space.
– help keep walkways clear of toys at all times for the safety of all children playing in our facility.

Is the playspace perfectly safe for my baby/child?
The playspace is a safe place for babies and children, but it is not free from every risk of injury. The walls, floors, doors, fixtures, structures, and many of the playthings are made of wood or other hard materials; It is possible for these things to be a source of injury. The other humans in the playspace are also potential sources of injuries. Please be reminded, it is the parent/caregivers’ responsibility to ensure the safety of their child while at the Sandbox Playspace.

Do you sell gift certificates?
Yes. You may purchase them here, by phone or at our front desk (and we happen to think they make a perfect gift).

Are you closed on holidays?
Yes, we are closed on the following holidays:
New Year’s Eve + Day
Easter
Memorial Day (and day before)
Independence Day (and day before)
Labor Day (and day before)
Thanksgiving (and day after)
Christmas Eve
Christmas

Can I drop my children off for Open Play?
No, parents/caregivers must stay with their children and are 100% responsible for monitoring their children while in our facility.

Do you offer discounts for groups?
Yes! We offer discounts for groups. Please give us a call in advance for details! Although outside food and drinks are permitted, the cutting of cake or delivery of food is not permitted without reservation of our party room. Any person in violation of this rule is subject to a private party fee.

How do I get to the Sandbox Playspace from Main Street in Huntington village?
Head north on New York Avenue. Gibson is the second right after crossing Main Street. (You will pass Burger King on your left before the right turn onto Gibson Avenue.)

Sick children
The Sandbox Playspace is a “well-child” play facility. We ask parents & caregivers to keep children home if they show signs of contagious illness and to please come visit soon when their little one has recovered.
