This night with Santa has fast become one of my most favorite traditions of the season.
It moves me to look at you while you see your children interact with Santa. As they decide their reactions, you are quick to share their elation, or you are right there to calm their fear. It is very tender to observe your love.
I feel all of the same hopeful anticipation when it’s my boys’ turn for their visit. This year, for our sons, it was sheer happiness! The only panic was in the moments while they waited for Santa to confirm their presence on the pages of the “Nice Book”. P.S. He found them (phew!).
When Santa visited my house as a child, he knew all about my sister and I. We wanted your family to have the same very special experience. In preparation for your visits, we asked for some detail about your children to send along to the North Pole. A sneak peak at the quirky little things you adore about your them; your responses made many of the visits nothing short of magic. Santa asked one little boy if he was the Luke that liked firetrucks. Luke’s mother got so excited, we’re pretty sure she forgot that she is the one who sent the information.
Thank you for the compliments on the setting. The decor for the event was from our good friends at Main Street Nursery. We are incredibly grateful to have access to the most beautiful Christmas decor around. When I went to Main Street to plan our staging, I ended up leaving with a gift for my son’s teacher, my mother-in-law, my niece, a few miscellaneous on my list, and even Rob (don’t tell). We recommend you to do a bit of holiday shopping or visit just to be inspired by their rustic holiday charm. We’d love if you tell them you are a friend of the Sandbox.
Thank you also to very talented photographer, Neil Tandy, who just about managed to get a tear-free photo of every child!
Lastly, the most heartfelt gratitude to Santa Claus! Santa visited me as a little girl. He brought our family a shared joy for many years. When I asked him last year if he would do it again, all these years later, my heart was pounding. I knew there was no other Santa. One mom told me, after she left the Sandbox, she sat in her car and tears streamed down her face. She couldn’t figure out why. I think I understand completely.
Thank you for sharing our family tradition. Ho! Ho! Ho!
